Choir

The choir is very active in Gaelscoil na Dúglaise and performs on all school occasions.

Children from fifth and sixth classes are in the choir. Much praise is due to Múinteoir Brídín for her wonderful work with the choir.

The choir regularly perform at coffee mornings for parents and visitors to the school . It takes part in Cór Fhéile na Scol in the City Hall every year. A very special occasion for the choir is when they visit the elderly patients in St. Finbarr’s Hospital at Christmas time. These visits are very much appreciated by the staff as well as patients and we have many letters of appreciation.

As part of the Cork City Jazz Festival last year the choir joined the Lamorrote Jazz group from Holland in its performance.They also performed with the MayDay Jazzband in 2010

The choir proved very popular at our fundraising fashion show in Rochestown Park Hotel and is also featured on our Christmas C.D. “Nollaig Shona”.They were priviledged to perform for the president Mary Mc Aleese in November 2010 as part of the 25 Year celebrations.
