School Traditional Group

School Traditional Music Group

Children from first to sixth class take part in the School Traditional Music Group.

We have violin, tin whistle, concertina, meleodeon, banjo and bodhrán.

This group has really raised the bar in children's traditional music circles. Former Parent Mairéad Corrigan and her son Fiachra lead the group. Fiachra is a past pupil of the school.

This group has won many prizes. They take part in the competition ‘Scór na bPáistí’ every year and for the past two years they won the county final. The band also takes part in the Cór Fhéile in the City Hall every year. The group made it 4 in a row in Feis Maitiú this year winniing The Evening Echo Cup.
